Role Description
You will be deployed in our PrePress & Packaging Design department to ensure the technical accuracy and quality of packaging designs before they go to print. This role involves meticulously reviewing design files, colour management, adherence to prepress standards, guiding the team and data analysis for further improvement. You will work closely with design and QC teams to troubleshoot and resolve print quality issues, ensuring that all packaging services meet the company’s high standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in checking packaging design, be proficient in current industry-standard requirements, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Also he/she should run a quality report to management/client on a weekly/monthly basis for further improvement of the business. Must be strong in Quality Management System (QMS) and apply quality assurance wherever required.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Quality Control & Assurance: Ensure all packaging designs meet predefined quality standards and client requirements.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement improvements in the design and production process to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Technical Proficiency: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant software and tools to ensure high-quality design outputs.
- Compliance & Documentation: Adhere to industry regulations and maintain comprehensive documentation for all quality assurance activities.
- Team Collaboration & Training: Work closely with all the teams and provide feedback to enhance overall quality awareness and skills.
- Quality Standards: Agree on standards and define clear quality methods for the team.
- Control Systems: Establish and manage controls and documentation, including error analysis reports.
- Checklist Creation: Develop a checklist with the department head to ensure task completion.
- Performance Audits: Evaluate weaknesses and suggest improvements.
- Artwork Inspection: Ensure artwork aligns with briefs and guidelines.
- Management Support: Assist the Service Delivery Manager and management team as needed.
- Deadline Adherence: Maintain focus on meeting deadlines, compile and update studio schedules, inform departments about project status, and manage workload distribution.
- Performance Dashboard: Create a personal dashboard based on error logs and plan training to minimise mistakes.
- ISO Compliance: Stay aware of ISO9001 requirements, implement a risk-based approach and record performance based on assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualification & Technical Skills
- Graduate in any stream
- A good standard of English, especially grammar and spelling.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills.
- At least 10 years experience in pre-press packaging environment out of which 4 years of managerial experience in packaging quality control.
- Repro / Prepress Knowledge
- Knowledge in Standard Proofreading marks with the PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) approach.
- Knowledge of online reading using Acrobat.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat DC/PRO, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign for checking packaging designs.
- Knowledge of colour management tools and software to maintain colour accuracy across printing processes.
- Familiarity with prepress and printing software to ensure designs are print-ready and meet production standards.
- Knowledge of printing processes, like gravure, offset, dry offset, digital, flexography etc.
